Instagram Grid Splitter — Free, Seamless, Browser-Based
GridSplit is a free Instagram grid splitter that turns one photo into 3, 6, or 9 perfectly seamless grid posts at Instagram’s 1080×1350 portrait size. Unlike basic crop tools, GridSplit applies bleed correction at every seam, so when Instagram adds its tiny gap between posts your panorama still looks continuous on a profile. No sign-up, no install, and your photo never leaves your device — everything runs in your browser. Upload, split, download a ZIP (exports carry a small gridsplit.app watermark).
How the splitter works

Upload a photo. Drag and drop a JPG, PNG, WEBP, or HEIC file, or paste from clipboard. Wide landscapes and panoramas work best for 3-tile strips; near-square images suit 9-tile grids.

Pick 3, 6, or 9 posts and position the image inside the grid. The profile mockup updates live so you can see exactly what your Instagram feed will look like before you post anything.

Download the ZIP of bleed-corrected tiles at 1080×1350px each. Post them in numbered order (tile #1 first, your highest number last) so Instagram fills the grid correctly — and choose the 4:5 crop, not square, or Instagram trims the bleed off and the seams return.
Getting a truly seamless result
The bleed correction is handled for you — each tile already overlaps its neighbours so Instagram’s grid gap can’t cut your image (the how-it-works guide walks through the math). Two things still depend on you at posting time:
Post in the numbered order. Instagram fills your profile from bottom-right to top-left, so the export is numbered in reverse — upload the highest-numbered tile first and tile #1 last, and the grid assembles correctly.
Don’t re-crop in Instagram. Each tile is already exactly 1080×1350. When Instagram’s composer shows the crop screen, accept the full 4:5 frame as-is — zooming or adjusting even slightly shifts the tile edges and re-introduces visible seams.

- Is the splitter actually free?
- Yes. No account, no paywall, no “upgrade for HD exports.” Exports are always 1080×1350px.
- Does it work on iPhone and Android?
- Yes. The whole splitter runs in your browser, including on mobile Safari and Chrome. HEIC photos from iPhone are supported directly.
- What size are the exported posts?
- 1080×1350px each — Instagram’s current 4:5 portrait format. This is what Instagram displays full-bleed in the grid.
- In what order do I post the tiles?
- Reverse order. Instagram fills the grid from bottom-right to top-left, so post the last tile first and the first tile last. GridSplit shows a numbered posting order after you export.
